Spoken word turns into song

Did you guys know that if a spoken phrase is repeated (looped) over and over it turns into song?? Try it!! I was listening to radio lab on npr and this sound phd woman discovered this phenomenon accidentally. She had a recording of her voice and it was accidentally left on and was looping on a phrase. After a while the spoken word turned into song. The women, not realizing it was her own voice thought she heard someone singing. It took her a minute before she realized it was her own voice and that it wasn't being sung, but spoken. To prove the point they looped the phrase on the radio and I swear it did start to sound like singing. And that looped phrase when put back in the complete sentence (unlooped) still sounded like song. So all the other parts of the sentence sound normal and like spoken word, but when it gets to the phrase that was previously looped in turns into song. It was fascinating (ha ha). Or fasina-ing.
